What Is Commercial Hydro Jetting?

Hydro jetting uses a powerful stream of pressurized water, up to 4,000 PSI, to clean drains by scouring the interior walls of your commercial plumbing lines. It removes clogs, blockages, roots, grease buildup, and more. Considered the gold standard in professional drain cleaning, it is far more thorough than other methods.

How Hydro Jetting Works

A hydro jetting unit pumps water at high pressure through a flexible hose fitted with a specialized nozzle. Forward-facing jets break through the blockage, while rear-facing jets pull the nozzle through the line and flush debris downstream. As the hose is drawn back, the water scours the pipe walls, so the pipe is cleaned along its entire length, not just at the clog.

Safe for Your Pipes and the Environment

Unlike harsh chemicals, hydro jetting uses only water, which makes it safe for your plumbing system, your customers, and the environment. This makes it the preferred method for many commercial facilities, especially those subject to health codes and regulations, where chemical drain cleaners can create compliance and safety concerns.

“I called after hours for plumbing work and they responded within 2 hours. They sent out Anthony who did so wonderful, went right to work and helped us be able to use our facilities again.” – Joseph

Does My Commercial Property Need Hydro Jetting?

A plumbing backup can be costly and disrupt your business. If you notice any of these warning signs, hydro jetting can help fix the source of the problem.

Slow drains in restrooms, kitchens, or floor drains. Water that drains slowly is usually the first sign that grease, scale, or debris is narrowing the pipe. Left alone, the buildup keeps growing until the line blocks completely.

Backed-up toilets or floor drains. Backups at several points in the building usually mean the problem is in a shared line rather than a single fixture, which is where jetting is most effective.

Multiple clogged fixtures at once. When more than one fixture clogs at the same time, the main drain line is typically restricted, and clearing a single fixture won’t solve it.

Foul odors or gurgling noises. Decomposing buildup inside the pipe and trapped air from a restricted line both point to residue that needs to be removed rather than pushed through.

Recurring clogs. If a drain keeps clogging after being snaked, residue is being left on the pipe walls. Hydro jetting removes that buildup so the clog doesn’t keep coming back.

For nearly 25 years, we’ve helped commercial properties in Las Vegas, Reno, and the surrounding areas with fast and efficient commercial hydro jetting. Whether you manage a single location or multiple facilities, we’re here to keep your plumbing systems clear and compliant.

Who Needs Commercial Hydro Jetting?

Any business or commercial property with recurring drain issues can benefit, including:

Restaurants and commercial kitchens. Grease, food solids, and soap build up fast in kitchen drain lines, and a backup during service can shut you down.

Apartment complexes and multi-family housing. Shared main lines carry waste from many units, so one restricted line can affect multiple residents at once.

Retail stores and shopping centers. High restroom traffic and shared drain lines make recurring clogs a common problem for tenants and landlords alike.

Hotels, hospitals, and schools. Facilities that operate around the clock can’t afford drain failures, and many have health and safety requirements that make chemical-free cleaning the better choice.

Industrial and warehouse facilities. Large-diameter drain lines and heavy use make routine jetting a practical way to prevent unplanned downtime.

Our Hydro Jetting Process

We approach every job the same way, so you know what’s happening at each step and nothing is done blindly.

Camera Inspection First

Before any high-pressure water goes into your lines, we inspect them with a video camera to locate the blockage, identify what’s causing it, and check the condition of the pipe. This confirms that hydro jetting is the right solution and sets the right pressure for your pipe material.

High-Pressure Jetting

Our technicians run the jetting hose through the line and work through the blockage, then clean the full length of the affected pipe. Specialized equipment built for commercial properties lets us handle the long runs and larger pipe diameters that multi-unit and large-scale facilities have.

Verification and Recommendations

Once the line is clear, we re-inspect it with the camera to confirm the pipe walls are clean, and we show you the results. If we find damage, such as cracks or heavy root intrusion, we’ll explain your options, which may include trenchless sewer repair, rather than leaving you with a clean pipe that’s still failing.

Preventive Hydro Jetting Programs

The most cost-effective way to handle commercial drain problems is to stop them before they cause an emergency.

Scheduled Jetting for High-Use Properties

Restaurants, hotels, and multi-unit buildings often benefit from jetting on a regular schedule, quarterly or annually, depending on usage. A scheduled program keeps buildup from reaching the point where it blocks a line during your busiest hours.

Multi-Location and Portfolio Contracts

Property managers and facility managers with several locations can bundle jetting with other services under a single agreement, with one point of contact and consolidated billing. Hydro Jetting FAQs

How long does hydro jetting take?

Most commercial jetting services take one to two hours. Heavier blockages, longer lines, or larger plumbing systems may take more time. We evaluate your system with a camera before starting, so we can give you a realistic time estimate and plan the work around your business hours.

Is hydro jetting safe for all pipes?

Hydro jetting is safe for most commercial-grade pipes, including PVC, cast iron, and copper, when the pressure is matched to the pipe material and its condition. That’s why we inspect your system first. If a pipe is cracked, collapsed, or too fragile for high-pressure water, we’ll recommend a different approach instead.

What’s the difference between hydro jetting and snaking?

A snake bores a hole through a clog, which restores flow but often leaves a layer of grease and scale on the pipe walls, so the clog tends to return. Hydro jetting scours the entire inside of the pipe with high-pressure water, removing the buildup and giving a longer-lasting result. Snaking still has a place for simple clogs, and our rooter and drain cleaning service covers those.

Can hydro jetting remove tree roots?

Yes. Hydro jetting can clear small to moderate root intrusions, especially when paired with video camera inspection. Roots tend to return if they entered through a crack or joint, so for extensive root problems we may recommend additional pipe repair, such as trenchless repair or replacement, to prevent them from coming back.

How often should a commercial property schedule hydro jetting?

It depends on your usage and pipe condition. Restaurants and commercial kitchens with heavy grease loads often benefit from quarterly jetting, while offices, retail, and multi-unit buildings often do well with annual service. After inspecting your lines, we can recommend a schedule that fits your property and your history of clogs.
